Egg Harbor Township, NJ – Mayor Laura Pfrommer, along with Committeemen Paul Hodson and Patrick Ireland proudly announced today that they are running together as a three-member Republican team for the Egg Harbor Township Committee in the upcoming 2026 general election.
The experienced team, running under the banner “Hodson – Pfrommer - Ireland for EHT Committee,” brings proven leadership, fiscal responsibility, and a deep commitment to the township’s nearly 48,000 residents.
Committeeman Paul Hodson joined the Township Committee in 2006. He served as Deputy Mayor from 2013 to 2018 and as Mayor from 2019 to 2022. Mayor Laura Pfrommer, first elected in 2011, is currently serving her third year as Mayor and previously served four years as Deputy Mayor. Their long-standing partnership has delivered stable, affordable, results-oriented governance.
Committeeman Patrick Ireland joined the Township Committee in June 2026 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Committeeman Will Pauls. On Thursday, June 9th, he received the official endorsement of the Egg Harbor Township Republican Organization.
A U.S. Air Force veteran and active American Legion member, Ireland previously served on the Egg Harbor Township Board of Education (elected in 2020), where he advocated for quality education and sound fiscal management. He also serves on the Township Planning Board, Veterans Advisory Committee, and Redevelopment Advisory Committee. Ireland has dedicated his adult life to public service.
Patrick and his wife Lynsey are the proud parents of four sons: Ryan, Mason, Owen, and Hudson. Ireland is a lifelong resident of Atlantic County and has resided in Egg Harbor Township for over a decade.
“This campaign is about the future and our commitment to building a clean, safe and caring community for our families.” Ireland said. “I am honored to run alongside Mayor Pfrommer and Committeeman Hodson and build on their record of good government. Having served our country in the Air Force and our community on the Board of Education and Planning Board, I am committed to protecting taxpayers, supporting our schools and first responders, and preserving the quality of life that makes Egg Harbor Township such a great place to call home.”
Together, the Hodson-Pfrommer-Ireland team pledges to maintain Egg Harbor Township’s status as the full-service community with the lowest municipal tax rate in Atlantic County. Through prudent budgeting, they are committed to spending under state caps, stabilized debt, preserved the township’s strong bond rating, and delivered high-quality services without overburdening taxpayers.
The team has consistently prioritized public safety, supporting the Police Department, EMS, and volunteer fire companies. They have advanced infrastructure improvements, park enhancements and housing development that respects the township’s rural character while promoting quality, sustainable economic development.
“Our team is united by a shared vision for Egg Harbor Township,” said Mayor Pfrommer. “With Paul’s decades of experience, Patrick’s dedication to service and education, and our proven record of results, we will continue delivering responsible leadership that puts residents first.”
The Hodson-Pfrommer-Ireland Team pledges to continue building a thriving, affordable, family-friendly community with:
Outstanding municipal services at the lowest possible cost
Thoughtful and sustainable economic growth
Right-sized, modern, and resilient infrastructure
Expanding recreational opportunities
Preservation of our open spaces and rural character
Strong partnerships with the school district and county government
“Egg Harbor Township deserves steady, experienced hands at the wheel,” Committee Hodson said. “The addition of Patrick Ireland to the team strengthens our commitment to fiscal discipline, public safety, and a bright future for all residents.”
